Salil Pendse, M.S., who recently joined Nuventra as a Quantitative Systems Pharmacologist, will present a roundtable discussion titled, “An Overview of QSP and PBPK: Modeling Biology in Drug Development,” at this year’s ACCP 2020 Virtual Annual Meeting. The session will be held on Monday, September 21st from 9:30am – 10:00am.
During this talk, Mr. Pendse will examine how physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) modeling and quantitative systems pharmacology (QSP) modeling can address various challenges. Specifically, he will discuss how knowledge gaps from traditional modeling approaches can be filled using PBPK and QSP methods and will provide examples from published literature to illustrate this in action.
Mr. Pendse has more than 7 years of experience building mathematical models of cellular modes of action, physiologically-based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) modeling, bioinformatics, and building visualization tools for effective communication of complex scientific results. He has authored or co-authored more than 20 peer-reviewed publications in toxicology ranging from novel algorithms for interpreting transcriptomics data, to using PBPK modeling for informing chemical safety in juvenile populations.
Additionally, Pharmacometrician, Shirley Wu, Pharm.D., will present her poster titled, “An R Shiny App for Calculating In Vitro Drug-Drug Interaction R Values Based on Equations from Regulatory Guidances (FDA, EMA, and PMDA).” Shirley is scheduled to present her poster on Monday, September 21st, from 4:00pm – 5:30pm.
